South Sligo AC are delighted to be hosting the 45th Tubbercurr­y road race

TUBBERCURR­Y Athletic Club was formed in the Winter of 1973, in September of that year Lukie Kilcoyne, his wife Carmel and Annie Killoran came up with the idea of running a Road Race in Tubbercurr­y.

The Tubbercurr­y Road Race holds its place on the Athletics calendar for the past 44years and is widely recognised as one of the best events in the North West. Last year saw over 375 runners take to the streets of Tubbercurr­y. South Sligo Athletic club are proud to carry the baton and ensure that it remains a success for many years to come.

Our St. Patrick’s Day 10K race and a 5K fun run/walk will start at 12midday. You can pre-register on line at coretiming.ie. for €15 or register on the 16 th March in Killorans bar and restaurant from 7-8:30pm or on St Patrick’s Day from 10:30am for €20. 10k prizes

Well earned refreshmen­ts and prize giving takes place in Killorans bar and restaurant as is tradition. As always our race is well supported by surroundin­g clubs and a special thank you to all who come to compete. A sincere thanks to our sponsors and our club members who volunteer their time to help us to make the day a success. We look forward to hosting our 45 th race this year.
