Sligo artists in top ten of song contest
Clodagh and Oisin from Sligo were today announced as one of ten musicians to reach the national semi-final of the Le Crunch Apple of My Eye song contest. They were chosen from an enormous amount of entries that totaled over 500 . Following an extensive nationwide search, ten semi-finalists have been chosen in the Le Crunch Apple of My Eye song contest. Hundreds of young musicians from across the countr y entered the talent search and from a huge pool of songs, the final ten will be whittled down to f i ve who will play li ve in a national final at Whelan’s in Dublin on Wednesday March 14.
Having established it self as one of Ir eland’s most popular song contests, thousands of promising Irish musicians have entered the competition since it s inception in 2013, many of whom have continued on to aspiring careers in the music industr y, such as Stephanie Rainey, Hvmmingbird and Brave Giant. Running in partnership with Ireland’s leading digital platform, JOE, the Le Crunch Apple of My Eye semi-finalists now have an opportunit y to ask their fans to play a part as t wo of the final fi ve spots will be decided by a public vote, taking place on Joe.ie. A panel of industr y judges will select the final three and then officiate at the li ve final taking at Dublin’s iconic music venue Whelan’s.
The public are invited to vote for their favourite track on Joe.ie and the fi ve finalists will be announced on Wednesday March 7.
