CARNEY LISSADELL 10K

A date for your diary - The annual Carney Lissadell 10k Road Race and Walk takes place on Easter Monday, April 2, Entry €15 online with runireland.com or €18 on the day at Oxfield. Registrati­on on the day starts at 9.30 a.m. followed by Kids Fun Run at 11 a.m., 10k Walk at 11.30 a.m. and 10k Run at midday.

CAKE SALE

Drumcliffe Community Games are having a Cake Sale in the History Centre beside the church on March 24 and 25 after 7 p.m. and 10.30 a.m. Mass on both days.

HOT POT EVENT

Drumcliffe-Rosses Point GAA are having the club’s annual St Patrick’s Day Family Hot Pot Event in Harry’s Bar and Bistro in Rosses Point on Saturday, March 17, from 1.30 p.m. onwards. No need to fret about how/where to feed the family after the parades with delicious grub for all ages, followed by a TV feast for sports fans: Rugby (England v Ireland) and GAA (all-Ireland Club Finals).

SOCCER SISTERS CAMP

Booking is now open for the Soccer Sisters Easter Camp in Carney on Wednesday, March 28, and Thursday, March 29, The camp is open to all girls aged 6-14. Cost of the camp is €30 which includes a kit and a football. Booking is online at: soccersist­ers.ie.

‘An Ordinary Man’ is coming to Rathcormac Hall on Thursday, March 22, a Beezneez Production starring Gerry Farrell, which by all accounts is simply ‘unmissable’. Tickets are on sale now from Cos Cos members or call 086 1925988.

YOUR LOOSE CHANGE

Put all your loose change to good use and drop if off to Drumcliffe Tea House. The Carney Ladies fundraisin­g group will count it all and your donations will go towards the Acquired Brain Injury Support Group in Sligo. ‘No coin too small we will count it all’.

CARNEY TIDY TOWNS

Carney Tidy Towns were successful in our bid to become one of six communitie­s chosen to take part in a pilot project to prepare a Biodiversi­ty Action Plan for villages and the surroundin­g areas. This plan means there will be expert advice given on how best to preserve and protect the wildlife of our area. Well done to all involved, the project is being delivered by Woodrow Solutions on behalf of the Sligo Heritage Office.
