Printfix.ie – just got even bigger!

-

WALKING into Printfix.ie on High Street you can feel the instant buzz and energy of a busy print house. I asked Owen Carton, the managing director of Printfix.ie what was the secret to it’s success. “I’ ll sum it up very simply – a fantastic team headed by Caroline Litster and continued investement in new technology”. Pushed a little further as to the kind of investments that Printfix.ie has made, Owen told me “We took delivery in November of a printing press that will not only print 400gsm board but it will print both sides in one pass with perfect register. This press compliments our new booklet maker with integrity system which is of particular interest to the medical and pharmaceutical industry. It guarantees that all booklets produced are identical and perfect. We also took delivery in January of an electronic die-cutter. With this we can now offer short run die-cutting of jobs and personalised, shaped labels at an incredibly competetive price. Now our customers are able to take advantage of these additional services and save even more money”.

I again asked Owen what he feels makes Printfix.ie stand out in the crowd in the competetive, local market and he replied “I put a huge amount of our success down to the team. I consider myself a very lucky business person, I work with my wife Alma, Caroline (AKA The Boss), Bill, Caitriona, Mark, Mairéad and Colm. I couldn’t ask for a more professional, hard working yet fun loving group of people to work with. This really benefits our customers experience dealing with Printfix.ie. It’s not just a building full of the latest, greatest print machinery, it’s a business with genuine people who really care and have a real interest in looking after it’s customers – that’s what makes us”.

Changing the topic slightly I asked Owen about his thoughts on Sligo and it’s future. He told me “We keep investing in our business because we believe in Sligo and the North West. It’s the people that make it, there’s a simile and a ‘Hi’ at every corner and such an enterpreneurial atmosphere. There’s a real positive spirit around with so many new businesses opening up. The Atlantic Way has been a great addition with more tourist activity helping our local restaurants, bars and hotels. When they’re busy we’re busy, it’s great! As some one once told me ‘a rising tide raises all boats’ ”
