GRASSROOTS
programme which finished this week, and this has proven very popular. REGISTRATION throughout the Club has been brisk and a further registration evening will be held prior to the end of March, date will be in the notes, but best keep an eye also to Facebook and Twitter. OUR Senior ladies already have played 2 matches in the Spring league, and bounced back from an initial loss to enjoy their first win of the year against Eoghan Rua. Their final group fixture will be at 10am next Sunday when they travel to meet CT Gaels. Our U14 girls squad have also started their season, with a good win over St Johns in very cold conditions on Sunday. No time for these girls to rest as they had a quick turnaround for their next match on Monday against St Farnons. THE U16 boys will begin the “A” league against St Johns with a match this Saturday in Cuilbeg and then the following Tuesday they welcome Drumcliffe Rosses Point for their second league encounter. A lot of St Marys players are involved with schools, colleges and county and in particular congratulations to lads in Summerhill College, where the Juvenile and Junior teams have qualified for their respective Connacht championship finals.
AGAIN this year it is a pleasure to congratulate our U16 player Michael Morgan on his athletic success. Michael won the All Ireland intermediate schools cross country title last weekend in Waterford. A final word on our recently held dinner dance which was a tremendous occasion and hugely enjoyable night out for everyone. THANK you to the organising committee, the hotel and all who attended.
