Cumann na mBunscol deciders
THE Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Indoor Hurling and Camogie finals were held in the Teeling Centre with some exciting games taking place.
The indoor hurling final between Geevagh and Rathcormac national schools proved to be an entertaining and competitive game. A blistering second half from Geevagh saw them come out on top as winners.
The first half was very closely contested with Rathcormac opening the scoring with a goal from the outstanding Michael Carroll. The same player went on to score a hat-trick for the north Sligo school. Great goalkeeping from Geevagh’s Kyle Gabbidon kept his side in the match and at half time the score was Rathcormac 3 Geevagh 2 thanks to goals from Geevagh’s Dara Moystyn,
There must have been an impressive team talk from Geevagh’s coach John Hughes as they opened the second half with three quick goals from John Corcoran, Dara Mostyn and Darragh Mastin. Jamie Brehony also added to Geevagh’s tally. The final score was Geevagh 9 Rathcormac 3.

In the Indoor Camogie final Ballintogher’s Chloe McGowan and Shauna Haran were the stars of the show in this enjoyable and entertaining match.
Dromore West’s goalkeeper Codie Kilgannon kept her side in the game making some great saves in the first half. But Ballintogher were the stronger side on the day, scoring three goals in the first half.
The second half saw Leanne Rowlette open the scoring for the West Sligo team, driving the sliotar past Ballintogher’s Emily Haran.
However Ballintogher hit back with scores immediately, despite the best efforts of Dromore West’s Katie Langan and Jamie Murray. The final result was Ballintogher 7 Dromore West 1.
