Hyde Bridge Gallery is hosting an exhibition of new work by Sligo based artists Lucie O’Hara and Michael Cummins today (March 20). Lucie O’Hara makes paintings with egg tempera and watercolour on pieces of beechwood small enough to lie in the palm of your hand. Subjects include faded scraps of envelopes and photos, fragments of fabrics and pottery, magical landscapes and places.

SOMEONE WHO’LL WATCH OVER ME
On Wednesday the 21st and Thursday the 22nd of March, playwright Frank McGuinness’s Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me comes to the Hawk’s Well Theatre. Inspired by the abduction of Brian Keenan taken hostage in Lebanon in the 1980s, this play is McGuinness’s hymn to the defiant power of the human spirit and the creative imagination. The play focuses on the trials and tribulations of an Irishman, an Englishman and an American who are kidnapped and held hostage by unseen Arabs in Lebanon.
