Broadcaster Claire Byrne fronts IKA organ donor awareness week
CLAIRE BYRNE is the new ambassador for the Irish Kidney Association’s Organ Donor Awareness campaign 2018.
The Irish Kidney Association, which celebrates its 40 th anniversary this year, said Byrne had taken up the voluntary role of ambassador for 2018 organ donor awareness.
The prolific journalist and national radio and TV broadcaster will front the 2018 Organ Donor Awareness Week campaign which will take place from 31st March until 7 th April.
She will be encouraging the public to support organ donation for transplantation while also buying Forget-menot flower emblems and other merchandise which will be on sale by Irish Kidney Association volunteers throughout the Week. This year also marks the 40 th anniversary of the organ donor card which has developed from what started out as the kidney donor card in the same year the Irish Kidney Association was established in 1978.
