ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The members of our local Active Retirement Association are recognising the approach of Easter by their annual visit to the Fr Peyton Centre, Attymas, for Mass, Meditations and Lunch. We can look back with satisfaction on our many enjoyable activities since the New Year, including our twice-weekly exercise and sport programmes, our visit to the Western Drama Festival, our demonstrations and social afternoons. We enjoyed and benefited from two excellent talks – one on Eye Care, given by Catherine Brennan, regular eye checks being so important for the over-50s: the other on Fire Prevention and Fire Hazards in the Home by Fire Officer, Tom O’Boyle – we will never again leave our houses while electric appliances such as Dish washers, Washing Machines or Tumble Dryers are in action.
New project this year was the start of our Irish Social Hour on Thursday afternoons in Teach Laighne, which are being so popular. Taimid an sasta leo agus beimid ag leanuint leo tar eis na Casca. Remember that by joining Active Retirement you will be helping the community and will bring ‘more years to your life and more life to your years’.
