DOZENS of French families are ready and waiting to host Sligo visitors to Crozon next month.

Sligo Town Twinning spokesperson Michael Clancy told The Sligo Champion that the host families are all set to host up to 40 visitors from their Irish twin town for a week in May.

Sligo is twinned with Crozon for nearly 40 years and in May a group from Sligo will travel to the Brittany town to celebrate the connection.

The last trip to Crozon was two years ago and there will not be another trip from Sligo to France for another two years.

Next year will mark the 40 th Anniversary and will see a contingent from Crozon visit Sligo.

Sligo Town Twinning is now inviting anyone interested in travelling to Crozon from 19 th -26 th May to participate, whether musicians, groups or individuals. The cost is ¤250.

Travel is by luxury coach from Sligo and return, ferry from Cork, including cabins and the bus will provide excursions in the Finistère region of Brittany.

Accommodation will be provided by host families in Crozon or accommodation can be rented. Activities will be organised during the week. Musicians and cyclists groups are already planning to join the trip.
