Late point in the final minute sees Shamrock Gaels win

SHAMROCK GAELS ST MOLAISE GAELS 1-15 1-14

Daire Kearns opened the scoring for Shamrock Gaels in the second half while St Molaise Gaels converted two frees to leave two points between the teams.

The sides were evenly matched for the following twenty minutes with both exchanging several points with Shamrock Gaels managing to keep three points ahead at all times.

St Molaise Gaels however finished very strongly and dominated the closing ten minutes drawing level with points from Cathal Burns, Mark Quinn and a free from Alan McLoughlin to set up a tense closing five minutes.

It was Shamrock Gaels however that kept their nerve and dug deep with Ciaran O’Connor popping up in the final minute to score the winning point for Shamrock Gaels.

St Molaise Gaels host Tourlestra­ne on Saturday in Monsignor Hynes Park at 6:30pm while Shamrock Gaels travel to Kent Park where they will take on St Mary’s at the same tim.
