DCU award for Ross

SLIGO native Ross Taheny was named DCU Sports Scholar of the Year 2018 at the college’s Clubs and Societies awards night which took place last Wednesday evening.

The award follows up an extremely impressive twelve months for the Collooney man.

Taheny was an integral part of the Republic of Ireland squad which travelled to Taiwan last year to compete in the 2017 World University Games.

Ross was also nominated for a Three FAI International Award in the Colleges and Universities International Player of the Year category.

Taheny was a mainstay of the Sligo Rovers under-19 squad for a number of years and went on to be named on the bench for the first team on a handful of occasions between the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons.
