“Over the last number of years, Darkness Into Light has grown enormously with 180 events due to take place in 2018 around the world.
Sligo was integral to that growth as one of the first areas to embrace it.
We are excited to announce the new route for this years 5k walk/run will progress through Sligo town centre and along the Garavogue river as the sun begins to rise.
“Darkness Into Light is a truly unique community event which has grown year on year thanks to kindness and compassion of the people of Sligo.
“The event is a wonderful mix of emotions culminating in an amazing display of solidarity with those who have experienced mental health issues.
“It advances the need for conversations about mental health and the show of support lets people know that is it okay, not to be okay.”
