‘Urgent action needed’ in Ballintogher
URGENT action is needed to increase safety at an area between Kingsfort Estate and St Teresa`s National School in Ballintogher Village.
That’s according to Fine Gael’s Local Area Representative Thomas Walsh.
Walsh stated “The area in question poses a major safety risk with residents in Kingsfort Estate being cut-off from Ballintogher Village by a piece of Local Authority ground. Currently there is no pedestrian access in situ. It is located along the R290, Ballygawley to Ballintogher road which is an extremely busy regional road.”
He added: “I have met with a number of residents recently and brought their concerns to Sligo County Council. I would urge the Council to prioritise this issue under the current CLAR Programme of funding.”
