-

A 26-year-old woman who was charged with assault causing harm in the Garavogue Bar had her case struck out after she agreed to pay €2oo to the Northwest Hospice.

Sligo District Court heard that Chloe Cosgrove, of Old Bundoran Road, Sligo and Chloe Regan had a falling out on the date in question. Defending solicitor Mr Gerard McGovern said they had been very good friends since school and the incident was more than three years ago and shouldn’t have happened. He said there had been nothing between the two parties since. Ms Cosgrove was asked by Judge Deirdre Gearty to apologise in the witness box to Ms Regan who was in court. She said she sincerely apologised and what happened shouldn’t have happened and that she regrets it and feels very sorry. Ms Cosgrove had no previous convictions. The judge asked Ms Regan is she wanted to say anything on the matter and she said she didn’t. The case was then struck out.
