Local athletes put in good times at the annual Kilmovee 10k race
A large Sligo AC group made the trip on Easter Saturday to participate in the 9th annual Kilmovee 10K. Mari Johnston finished an excellent third in 40:50. Monica Henry 45:13 was 3rd F 35. Good running also by Karl Boyce 39:43 who was 3rd M50. Bill Carty 39:01, Aoife Kilgannon 41:16, Sarah-J Boyce 44:44, Brendan McCarrick 45:51, Aishling Cawley 47:33, Dermot Cunningham 52:17, Kate Carty 53:49, Sheila Devaney 54:00 and Cathy McCarthy 1:00:13 all put in good performances. A group of Sligo AC runners also made the short trip to Grange for the annual Good Friday 5K.
Eamonn McAndrew (North Sligo) was the overall winner in 16:12.
Shane Hayes sped around in 16:30 and this earned him 2nd overall.
There were good runs also by Conor Melvin 17:06, Fiona Fahy 21:40 and 4th Lady, Noreen Joyce 23:32 and first F50, Lorena McNicholas 25:55, Tara Savage 25:00, Aidan Kelly 25:00, Vanessa Foley 25:08, Eimear Kelly 25:16 and Fiona Melvin 26:00.
