On Thursday the 12th of April, the Hawk’s Well Theatre presents Tradroque – a juxtaposit­ion of Irish traditiona­l and baroque music traditions featuring Sligo Baroque Orchestra and an ensemble of traditiona­l musicians including Michael Rooney on harp, Liam Kelly on flute, Leonard Barry on pipes, John Joe Kelly on bodhrán and Seamie O’Dowd on guitar. Tickets are €15 with a special Go See rate of €7.50 for under 18s. All tickets will have a €1 developmen­t fee surcharge and are available from the Hawk’s Well Theatre box office.

THE MAN IN THE WOMAN’S SHOES

The Lough Gill Players present the classic comedy “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde at The Glens Centre this Wednesday and Thursday. It is the story of two bachelors, John “Jack” Worthing and Algernon “Algy” Moncrieff who create alter egos to escape their tiresome lives.

In honour of 2018 Bliain na Gaeilge Sligo County Fleadh are hosting a bilingual Table Quiz led by Sean Dwyer (with just the final two rounds of ‘basic’ questions tre Gaeilge). The event takes place this Thursday at Thomas Connolly’s from 8.30pm.

The Man in the Woman’s Shoes returns to the Hawk’s Well Theatre this Friday and Saturday. The Man in the Woman’s Shoes was written by and stars Mikel Murfi. It was originally commission­ed by the Hawk’s Well Theatre. The Man In The Woman’s Shoes follows Pat as he walks the five miles from his white cottage to town and back again. He meets unforgetta­ble characters along the way.
