Cos Cos is proud to present the world premier of a ver y special performance of rhy thm conversations between voice, fiddle, and traditional dance, on May 12th in St. Columba’s Church, Drumcliffe, the final resting place of Sligo’s greatest poet.
Featuring traditional music innovators, Lorcán Mac Mathúna and Daire Bracken, and Sean Nós dancers, Liam Scanlonn and Caoimhe Ní Mhaolagáín, Preab Meadar, will see an exciting exploration of the rhy thms of medieval Gaelic poetr y, through music and dance. In this production they will reveal the masterful rhy thm of a 16th centur y Sligo poet, Tadgh Dall Ó hUiggín with musical compositions that have been described as “groundbreaking” and “An extraordinar y meeting of wordcraft and music rhy thms.”
