THANKS to all who supported the Dinner Dance last Friday in the Clayton Hotel and a special word of thanks to Ursula Lyons and Michael Brennan for their work in organising a most enjoyable night. There were a number of presentati­ons on the night including winners medals to the U21 team who won the B Championsh­ip and player of the year awards to Andrew Flynn

(Senior), Alan Kelly (Junior), Shane Deignan (U21) and Aoife Morrisroe (Ladies) - congrats to all. The club made a special award to dual Internatio­nal, Aoife McDermott to recognise her achievemen­t in making her debut with the Ireland Ladies Rugby team. Special guest on the night was Paddy Joe Quigley who was inducted into the Shamrock Gaels Hall of Fame. THE senior team lost narrowly away to St Marys in the League last Saturday on a scoreline of 0-17 to 1-13. The team was: Mark Tuohy, Declan Willis, Paul Higgins, Keith McMorrow, Evan Lyons, Karl McKenna (0-1), Gavin McMorrow, Liam O’Connell, Frank Quinn (0-2), Daire Kearns, Brian Boyd (0-1), James Carroll (0-1), Darragh Hailstones (0-7), Seamus Hailstones (1-0), Ciaran O’Connor (0-1). Subs: Patrick Benson for D Kearns, Ben Tuohy for G McMorrow, David Quinn for L O’Connell (inj). They take on Tourlestra­ne at home next Saturday at 6.30PM.

THE Junior team lost 2-17 to 1-13 to Owenmore Gaels last Sunday. The team was: Rickie Johnston, Robbie Johnston, Diarmuid Jinks, Emmet Dodd, Niall Whelan, Gavin McMorrow, Conor Merrick, James Carroll (0-1), Adrian McCann, Brian Boyd (0-3), Cian McDermott (0-3), Mark Kearns (0-3), Paddy O’Grady (0-3), Eoin McDermott (1-0), Patrick Benson. THE boys minor team play Ballymote/ Buninanade­n this Friday in Coola at 6.30PM.

WELL done to the U16 boys who recorded a 6-14 to 1-8 win over Calry last Monday. The team was: Jack Duignan, Aodhan Eivers, Adam Kearns Conor Sheridan, David Barlow, Conor Kearns (2-1), Aaron McKenna (0-2), Eoin Dwyer (0-1), Patrick Barrett, Jason Kilkenny (0-1), Conor McMorrow, (20), Shane Dwyer, Lee Duignan (1-9). Subs:- Charlie Mullen (1-0), Andrew McGreevy and Daniel Murphy. THE U16 girls play Drumclffe in Riverstown Park this Tuesday 9th. THE U14 boys play Coolera in their first league game this Thursday in Riverstown at 6.30PM.

THE U12 girls lost their first league game narrowly to St Farnans last week, they play Geevagh away on Friday while the U12 boys play Coolaney/ Mullinabre­ena in Coola Tuesday 9th at 6.30PM in their first league game. THE Saturday morning coaching resumes this Saturday 14th April in in Coola from 11-12PM for U6/8/10 boys and girls - all welcome.

THE Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others commences training on Monday 9th April in Riverstown Park at 8pm. This is a fun non competitiv­e way to learn the game, get some exercise, meet new people and have fun. No prior experience of football required just need to be over 21 - any enquiries to Michelle on 0876157455 - all new and past members welcome. THERE was no winner of the lotto last weekend with the numbers drawn 3, 8, 10, 12. There were two match 3 winners, Kate McDermott and Sean Benson. The jackpot now stands at €3,500 with the next draw in McDermotts, Castlebald­win on Saturday 21st. THE club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Sadie Canavan, Riverstown who died at the weekend.
