Speeding in Tubbercurry

Residents in Tubbercurr y are concerned about the speed of some motorists on a prominent road in the south Sligo town.

Cllr Margaret Gormley said she was contacted by a number of local people who expressed dismay at the speed of vehicles on a stretch of the N17 in Tubbercurr y from North Connacht Collage via Circular Road to the Ballina Road Junction.

Cllr Gormley called on the council to put measures in place to reduce speed on this part of the road. Director of Ser vices Tom Kilfeather said the council will discuss the matter with the regional sector with a view to implementing measures l ater this year.
