Open trials for Rovers women’s Under 17s

OPEN Trials for Sligo Rovers’ Under 17 Women’s Team will take place in IT Sligo on Friday, 27th April and Friday, 4th May.

Both sessions will take place at 7pm and all players born during or since 2001 are invited to attend.

All players interestin­g in being involved with this squad are requested to complete the registrati­on form ahead of the trials.

The club will be based in the excellent facilities of IT Sligo for both training and games for the 2018 and 2019 seasons (July - October ’18 / March - October ’19).

Local business David McConville Orthodonti­cs have been confirmed as the main sponsor of the U17 women’s team until the end of the 2019 season.

There will be no financial contributi­on expected from players to participat­e with the club.

Each signed player will be asked to return 10 club draw Tickets (€10 each) to subside players’ individual training kit and team wear.

The club are also inviting applicants to express their interest in the following roles for the inaugural FAI Under 17 Women’s National League team.

Through Sligo Rovers’ new women’s football section, the goal is to be competing at the highest level of women’s football.

Rovers will provide a performanc­e centre strategy that encompasse­s the club wide philosophy for players to develop within a comprehens­ive and profession­alised environmen­t.

Experience and enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring elite young players and coaches. Desirable Criteria for Coaching Roles

A minimum of a current valid National ‘C’ Licence holder.

Previous experience of coaching in female game.
