GAA NOTES

BAG PACKING - Thanks to all the members who volunteered for our bag packing in Dunnes Stores, Ballina last Thursday. Over €1,000 was raised by you on the day. Thanks to all who contributed.

Division 2 league - On Saturday evening Easkey were the visitors to Corballa for the second round of the league. A very tight first half where the visitors were leading by a point thanks to their keeper making 2 great saves. This was to prove very important with Easkey scoring a goal just after the halftime break to open a gap. Despite both teams only scoring 2 points between them the next 20mins Easkey scored a few late goals to pull away and win 4-7 v 0-7. Scorers for us on the day were Paul Flynn, Sean Carrabine, Mícheál Cahill and Odhrán Quinn. Our next game is another west Sligo derby against St.Farnans.

U14 HURLING - The team had their first game of the year versus Tourlestrane. We got off to a good start and lead at the break by 4 points but in the second half Tourlestrane took their chances and won the game 3-4 v 2-3. The team are taking part in the All Ireland Feilé and have been drawn with a Donegal, Cavan and Benbulben Gaels teams.
