Small roads scheme funding
Over 21 rural roads in Counties Sligo and Leitrim will be upgraded in an investment of €531,000 under the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS).
Deputy Tony McLoughlin said: “This scheme is a lifeline for people living in rural areas because it directly improves their access to and from their homes and farms.”
“Some €281,000 in funding has been allocated to Sligo County Council by my colleague Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring with €250,000 being allo- cated to Leitrim.”
The roads to be improved are and their electoral areas are: Sligo Strandhill - Doonamurray €14,106; Tubbercurry- Creeghassaun €48,128; Tubbercurry- Carrownagleragh €45,000;
Sligo Drumcliffe - Augharow €27,387; Ballymote - Cuilmore, Gurteen €13,252; Tubbercurry - Montiagh, Curry €35,224; Ballymote -Derryknockeran €14,283; Coolaney River Walk €34,940; Sligo Drumcliffe- Willowbrook, Calry €41,918; Ballymote - Carricknahorna East €7,763.
