Connolly for Repeal the Eighth meeting
GALWAY Independent T.D. Catherine Connolly and Dr Fiona Bloomer from Ulster University will be among the guest speakers at a public meeting organised by the Trade Union Campaign to Repeal the 8th in the Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo, on this Thursday 26 th April commencing at 8 pm.
Local trade unionist and up to recently National President of the IMPACT trade union Mr Pat Fallon, will preside at the event which will also be addressed by a number of local trade union activists. Catherine Connolly was elected to the Dail in 2016 having served as a councillor on Galway City Council since 1999.
She previously worked as a clinical psychologist and barrister. Dr Bloomer is an academic and the author of the landmark study “Abortion as a Workplace issue”. She works with the Institute for Research in Social Sciences at the Ulster University.
Mr Fallon appealed to trade union members to vote Yes for Repeal on May 25 th”.
