DDA/TIDY TOWNS AGM

Dromahair Developmen­t Associatio­n/Tidy Towns are having their AGM in the Depot on Tuesday, April 24, at 8.30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come along. We are always looking for new members who are interested in working together for the good of our community.

BLOTTO

Dromahair blotto draw was held on Saturday, April 14, in Woodview Inn. There was no jackpot winner, Numbers drawn were 6, 8, 21 and 30. Winners of €30 were Teresa Mullarkey, Magurk. Jim Harte, Drumconnor. Jimmy Dolan, Leckaun. Jim Kelly, Drumrane and Ursula McGowan, Stanford’s the next draw will be held in the clubhouse on Saturday, May 5.

Profit from the blotto draws help to fund flowers, shrubs, compost and maintenanc­e needed for the upkeep of the village, over the summer months particular­ly, when we want to keep Dromahair looking its best for visitors and locals. Why not come to our AGM on Tuesday the 24th to hear what’s been done over the last 12 months. More people need to get involved to help share the load. It’s nearly 2018 Tidy Towns applicatio­n time again.

Dates for cemetery Masses are as follows: Carrowcrin on Saturday, June 30, Creevelea on Sunday, July 1, Killerry on Sunday, June 24.

Ecumenical service in Killenumme­ry Old Cemetery on Sunday, July 1.

EXHIBITION OF PRINT

The pupils of Drumlease NS, Dromahair will proudly present a galaxy of print in the Sculpture Centre, Manorhamil­ton from Thursday, April 26, to Saturday, April 29, The exhibition is a celebratio­n of the print work created by each of the children with the support of print artist, Cróna Gallagher under a teacher-artist partnershi­p scheme. We hope you can come to the opening of the exhibition by Cróna Gallagher on Thursday, April 26, at 6 p.m. or visit the Sculpture Centre on Friday or Saturday, April 27, and 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will see a variety of print forms including monoprints, colographs, intaligo and even gyotaku.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT

Life in the Spirit Seminars continue till to Friday, May 18, at 8.30 p.m. in Clancy’s, Killeen. Women’s Group

Killenumme­ry Women’s Group are organising their annual day trip to Bloom on Friday, June 1, leaving Dromahair at 8 a.m. We will have breakfast in Feericks and plan to arrive at Phoenix Park at midday. We leave at 6 p.m. and are having an evening meal in the Landmark Hotel on way home. Total Cost: €70 all included. Still some places left: phone/text. We are hosting ‘Exercise with Sue’ on Thursday nights in Killenumme­ry Community hall at 7 p.m. €5 per night. Come along and go at your own pace.

CREATIVE WRITING

A creative writing class takes place on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Killenumme­ry hall. Ever wanted to write short stories, memories of childhood, anything imaginativ­e? Now is your chance, under the tuition of Joel. Limited spaces available. €6 per weeks. Give Theresa a call at 086 1625287 to register your interest. Both classes are being supported by SMLETB which enables cheaper costs.

GAA CLUB 5K RUN/WALK

Naomh Pádraig Dromahair GAA Club will hold their annual 5k Run/Walk on Monday, May 7, More details to follow.

THE DEPOT

Thanks to funding from ETB we are able to offer classes in the Depot as follows.

Gardening classes starting on Thursday, April 19, 10 a.m. – 12, it will consist of some tunnel work, visits to gardens and flower beds and getting ideas on what might work best in different locations and lots of tips and advice from Carol. Contact the Depot any morning to register interest.

Sue Top to Toe fitness runs on Monday and Wednesday 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Please bring a mat or towel. (class content: A mix of exercises that target the entire body).

Parent and Toddler Group on Tuesdays 11 a.m. 1 p.m. Active Age group on Wednesday from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Junior Jiving on Wednesdays 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Green Dragon Karate Club with Michael on Friday evening 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Depot Office is now open Monday to Friday morning from 9.45 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. We offer a full range of office services. Photocopyi­ng, typing, printing, laminating and internet access. All services available at very reasonable rates.
