UNDERAGE GAA

Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena GAA Club training continues every Saturday morning. Training starts at 10 a.m. As this is the start of training outside for the season, please make sure kids are dressed warm enough. For the under-6, please ensure at least one parent or guardian remains for the duration the session. Remember Water and Gum Shields. €2 per child/max €4 per family.

CHARITY RUN

A charity tractor, motorbike and vintage car run will take place on Sunday, May 20, at 2 p.m. leaving from the Mountain Inn. All proceeds in aid of Crumlins Children’s Hospital and Guide Dogs for the Blind. Women’s Group

The Coolaney Women’s group meets every Thursday morning from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in the Coolaney Community Centre. The group is open to women of all ages and they are currently looking for new members. The group consists of activities, occasional days out and at times, profession­al people give talks and classes.

FORÓIGE CLUB

The Foróige Club continues each Friday evening at Coolaney Community Centre between 7.30 p.m. and 9 p.m. It is open to all youths aged 13 to 18 years. We are also currently seeker volunteer leaders. For more informatio­n contact Mark at 086 0740841 or Brendan 087 3964541.

WALKING GROUP

Walking group meets every Tuesday and Friday at the Mill Pharmacy carpark at 8.30 p.m. New members welcome. Just come along on the night.

BINGO

Bingo is held every Friday night in Gurteen Hall at 8.30 p.m. The jackpot was won last Friday night and starts again at €1,700 on 45 calls – lotto raffle is now €900 – all proceeds are shared between Eastern Harps GAA Club and the hall committee for the upkeep of the hall.

CEILI IN GURTEEN

The Tulla Ceili Band makes their first visit to Gurteen on Thursday, May 3, This a sets ceili (not a concert) and will be held in the special marquee in the Teach Murray carpark.

COUNTRY FESTIVAL

‘My Old Hometown Gurteen’ Country Music Festival takes place over May bank holiday. Top acts include Jimmy Buckley, Gerry Guthrie and Gurteen’s own Patrick Feeney plus others – enquiries to 086 2313318.

GALLAGHER HOUSE 8K

The annual 8km run/jog/walk for Gallagher House Services, Tubbercurr­y will take place on Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. Starts at Kilmactigu­e Community Centre. Register on Thursday from 6 p.m. or pre-register before 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday the 25th at 071 9120624 or by calling into Gallagher House Garden Centre.

There will be clock timing on the day, with prizes for first, second, third – male and female. Refreshmen­ts after and cost per adult €10. Everyone welcome. Your support, as always, is greatly appreciate­d.

COLEMAN ARCHIVE LAUNCH

The Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen launched their latest CD for the Coleman Archive titled ‘The Past is Another Tune’, produced by Gregory Daly. This is the fourth CD collection in a series of archive recordings from the Coleman Heritage Centre having the general title THE COLEMAN ARCHIVE the CD’S are available at the Coleman shop – phone 071 9182599.
