Driver’s third insurance offence
A driver was convicted of his third insurance offence at Sligo District Court last Thursday.
Tyreed Onifada Adeloomiwa of 10 Tarmon View, Tarmonbarry admitted not having insurance at Brookfield, Sligo on August 22nd 2017.
The 31 year old had two previous convictions and was banned for four years in April this year. His other conviction came in March 2017.
Ms Laura Spellman, solicitor (defending) pleaded that the defendant was now insured as a named driver on his wife’s policy.
He wasn’t working due to an injury but was an actor and travelled regularly to Dublin for this. He was the father of a six month old child.
Nothing that this was the defendant’s third conviction, Judge Kevin Kilrane imposed a four month jail term but suspended it for three years.
He also banned the defendant for seven years.
