HAWK’S WELL ANNOUNCES NEW SUMMER BROCHURE

THE Hawk’s Well Theatre’s programme for May – August 2018 is out now and brochures are currently available to pick up throughout the Sligo region and can also be viewed online on the theatre’s website.

There is plenty of choice for theatre lovers. Seamus O’Rourke returns with Big Guerilla Production­s on Wednesday 2nd of May and a story ‘From Under the Bed’ full of heartache and humour, as a pair of aging, rural bachelor brothers arrive at a point in their lives where decisions have to be made about certain things.

Acclaimed actress Mary Murray (Love/Hate) visits the theatre on Wednesday 9 th of May with the play ‘No Smoke without Fire’.

This comic drama by Paddy Murray is full of sharp Dublin wit and tells the story of Larry, the cash, the camper van and the deceased husband.

Hawk’s Well Theatre Artist in Residence Bob Kelly presents the final work-in-progress of his residency on Tuesday 15 th of May at 8pm.

Entitled Daywrecker­s, it tells the story of Murphy who is going to propose to his ex-girlfriend. Please note that this performanc­e contains explicit language.

The theatre presents a series of witty, lunchtime episodes of the old time radio sitcom favourite Easy Aces as lunchtime theatre throughout the summer on Wednesday 16 May, 27 June and 25 July at 12.45pm with lunch €5 available from 12.15pm. Witty, light and small enough to fit into your lunch break!

Rise Production­s present a play called ‘ The Good Father’ on Wednesday 23rd of May at 8pm. Winner of the Stewart Parker Award, this heartfelt, moving drama charts a journey of love, loss and redemption.

Ibsen’s ‘A Doll’s House’ is presented on Wednesday 30 th of May in a new adaptation from Theatrical Niche Ltd who use verbatim and emotive choreograp­hy to rocket Ibsen’s classic tale into a modern re-telling.

Breda Cashe Production­s presents Maeve Binchy’s last novel Minding Frankie on Friday 1st of June. Noel struggles to be the best mother he can be but most prove that he can fill a woman’s shoes, break all the stereotype­s, and along the way realizes that it takes a village to rear a child, or at least a street.

Caroline Burns Cooke presents her award winning one woman show And The Rope Still Tugging her Feet on Friday 15 th of June at 12.45pm as lunchtime theatre. Inspired by the Kerry Babies scandal of 1984, when a young Kerry woman was falsely accused of murdering her baby and subsequent­ly vilified for her immortalit­y and tormented by the State and Church.

White Cobra Production­s present Justin Boucher’s classic piece Scaramouch­e Jones on Wednesday 20 June at 8pm. This play tells the story of the mysterious white faced clown as he emerges from the circus for the very last time.
