Public info sessions on Peace IV grants

AN EU Peace fund designed to build bridges between Catholics and Protestant­s has opened up to the public for applicatio­ns.

The Small Grants Fund has a budget of ¤160,000 for Sligo projects.

Projects and initiative­s promoting conflict resolution, sport, arts, culture and environmen­tal programmes will be considered by the PEACE IV Small Grants Fund.

Informatio­n sessions are taking place in Sligo and Tubbercurr­y this Wednesday May 2nd at 12.30pm in the Northside Community Centre and at 7pm in Teach Laighne, Tubbercurr­y.

The aim is to support community led peace building initiative­s throughout Sligo.

Funding is available at a rate of 100% and will range from a minimum of ¤7,500 to a maximum of ¤40,000.

Key target groups include victims of the conflict in Northern Ireland, displace people, people excluded or marginalis­ed from society, young people, women, older people and minority communitie­s, ex-prisoners and their families, former members of the security and ancillary services.
