Chef cooks up a €68k storm as he gets to spin the wheel!
A Sligo chef certainly cooked up a storm after winning a massive €68,000 on the National Lottery Winning Streak game show on RTE One last Saturday (28th April).
Justin Carty from Grange was the lucky player to spin the wheel, winning €50,000 in the process, bringing his total winnings on the night to €68,000.
Justin is head chef at the famous Shells Café in the seaside town of Strandhill. He is married to Rebecca and the couple have had a landmark year celebrating their 10 th wedding anniversary, Justin’s 40 th birthday and the birth of their third child six months ago.
Their three children are Ally (9), Riognach (7) and Imogen (6 months) and his older daughters supported their dad in the audience on Saturday. The family celebrated Justin’s big birthday last month with a family holiday in Marbella.
In his rare spare time Justin loves relaxing with his young family and playing with the kids. With his winnings from the show he says that he will try his best to get away for another family holiday before the summer is over.
A total of €211,000 was won on the game show this week.
Winning Streak scratch cards offer a range of great instant cash prizes plus a 3-star prize, which gives players the opportunity to enter a draw to appear on the gameshow. Five players are selected to appear on the Winning Streak TV Gameshow and win up to €500,000 instantly on the Grand Prize Wheel.
