initiative through Dean Mahon’s neat goal to put themselves back in front, and having added points through Pierce Kearins and Mahon they led 2-5 to 0-8 at half-time.

After the restart, St Patrick’s continued in a similar vein and kicked into a 2-10 to 0-9 lead with Kearins, Enda Connolly and Dean Mahon beginning to have a bigger influence on the game.

However, as the tie ticked into the final 20 minutes, Enniscrone/Kilglass took control.

Two goals in quick succession from the boot of Kevin Cawley helped them get back on level terms, but to their credit St Patrick’s responded with two points to lead 2-12 to 2-10 with seven minutes left.

Enniscrone/Kilglass, though, finished much stronger.

Points from Brian Coleman, Shane Hargadon and Donal Mullaney edged them in front, before scores in the last three minutes from Coleman and Cathal Mullaney helped the seasiders to a threepoint win.

The sides will meet again in two weeks’ time in the Fureys Coaches Division Two league at the same venue.
