Tri club supports charities
SLIGO Triathlon Club recently donated €500 each to 3 charities after the club’s 2017 events. Stephen Daly PRO said: “We had the pleasure of presenting the cheques to the respective charities; Cancer Care West, North West Hospice and Sligo Bay RNLI.”
Stephen added: “These 3 charities are an integral and important support to many individuals across the wider Sligo community in different ways.
“There is no doubt the contributions will help contribute to this in some small way.” Sligo Bay Lifeboat Station run by the RNLI is manned by volunteers, and financed by voluntary contributions and fundraising. The lifeboat crew help protect the community with an extensive search and rescue service. The North West Hospice provide support to Sligo University Hospital’s medical and nursing teams and palliative care to patients and their families. Cancer Care West have a residential facility, Inis Aoibhinn, at University Hospital Galway as well as a dedicated Cancer Support Centre at Westside, Galway.
