Sligo AC on form in 10k
THE 7th Run for Boylo 10/5k races took place in dry but windy conditions on a good course starting and finishing by the banks of the River Moy.
Moy Valley’s Michael Canty was the overall winner in 33:08 but he had Sligo AC’s Seamus Somers in hot pursuit for the entire race with Somers finishing second in 33:27.
Sligo AC’s David Kearins raced into 3rd from the start and he held off Mayo AC’s John Nolan to claim 3rd in 36:53. Bill Carty has been in good form recently and he finished in 9th place in 39:25.
Mari Johnston, fresh from her F50 National title last week, took the F50 prize in 40:56.
Martin Feeney was 28th in 42:12.
Roseanne Mitchell was second in the F50 category in 46:44 while Aishling Cawley was47:56.
