JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP

Among our community are a young contingent that we could call Junior Youth, who are between the ages of 12-15. They are not children anymore and they are not yet adults. They’re in-between. This is a time that someone goes through the most change they ever will in their life – Physically, Emotionally, Intellectually and of course Spiritually. It’s a time where we are probably most curious about the world and why it is the way it is. The environment these young people are exposed to has a massive influence and their peers shape how they react to their circumstance.

These young, uniquely positioned in the time of their lives, people have lots of energy and they long to contribute to the betterment of the world, as they are quite sensitive to the injustices the see around them. They might not know how to help but they really want to, if only given the opportunity. They require a different approach to encourage them and enable them to release their energies that will have a great effect where they live.

The Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program is a worldwide program that gives an opportunity to create a space in a neighbourhood for these Junior Youth to be part of a group and begin to see how they might contribute to their communities together. Those, who support this programme sees the potential in these young people. They see each having their own unique talents and abilities and all as having a place in their community.

Our meetings are every Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Coolaney Community Centre.
