MARTIN SKEFFINGTON R.I.P.

The recent death occurred af- ter a long illness borne with great courage of Martin Skeffington late of Springvale and originally from Connolly Park, Tubbercurry.

Aged 73, Martin was a well known and respected man who was quiet spoken and who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

In his early working life he moved to England from Tubbercurry where he spent nearly 20 years working in the construction business before returning home with his wife Jean to rear their expanding family.

Locally he worked with various farmers doing the seasonal work as required, and he always enjoyed this type of farm work where he was involved with nature and wildlife. As a hobby he always kept a racing greyhound or two and was a regular attendee at Longford and Galway greyhound racing tracks. He also enjoyed shooting and hunting and knew all the woods and bogs of South Sligo.

His remains reposed at the Morahan funeral home prior to removal to the Church of John Evangelist. Burial took place in Rhue Cemetery.

Martin is survived by his wife Jean, daughters Julie and Katie, sons Martin, Paul, Michael, Brian, Peter and Tom, sons and daughters-in-law, many grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and friends, all to whom sympathy is extended. May he rest in Peace.

TOMMY WYNNE R.I.P.
