CYCLE AGAINST SUICIDE

Easkey and Enniscrone Cycle against suicide, this cycle will be passing through Enniscrone on Friday, May 4, around 3.30. This year there will be a stop in Easkey so that’s the Cyclists can meet the family and friends of the late Doreen Conlon (Hegarty) of Roscommon and Ballymeane­y, Easkey. The cycle will be in Easkey around 4 p.m. Please come out and show your support.

ENNISCRONE-KILGLASS GAA

Our intermedia­te team suffered their first home defeat of 2018 with a 1-8 to 2-12 loss to Calry/St Joseph’s last Saturday. We led the game 1-4 to 0-4 after an encouragin­g opening 20 min- utes, but Calry finished the first half stronger to take a 1-8 to 1-6 half-time lead. A goal for the visitors 10 minutes into the second half put them in the driving seat and they ended as seven-point winners. Our lads are in Benson Cup action next Saturday evening away to St Pat’s from 7 p.m.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/ Easkeywere beaten by Eastern Harps at Quigabar last Sunday, 2-7 to 5-15. They host Shamrock Gaels on Friday evening at 7 p.m.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey under-16 team play Owenmore Gaels on Monday (April 30) at 7 p.m. in Connolly Park, Collooney.

Our under-14s take on St Pat’s on Thursday evening at 6.30 p.m. in Dromard. Under-12: Our under-12shad an impressive 0-21 to 0-4 win away to Tourlestra­ne last week. They are next in action on May 1 when they take on Castleconn­or. Under-eight/under-10: Well done to our under-eights and under-10s who had their first outing of the year against Easkey last Wednesday.

QUIZ NIGHT

A Fun Quiz in aid of Kilglass/ Culleens Community Alert group will be held on Friday, May 4, in Sheridan’s Bar Kilglass. Bring your friends and enjoy a fun filled night in aid of the Local Community Alert Initiative. The winners will receive a round of drinks. There will be a raffle on the night. WALKING CLUB

The walk this Saturday is the Nephin Mountain and takes place on Saturday, May 5. The level is hard and the terrain is Open Mountain and the length is five hours.

TIDY TOWNS

Thank you to all those who attended the AGM in Monday, April 16, when the successes of last year and the exciting plans for next year were the main focus. An impassione­d and fascinatin­g talk was presented by Daithi Lavelle, who shared his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the local wildlife of Enniscrone and Kilglass. BLOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot €4,600 when the draw took place in Sheridan’s Pub Kilglass on Saturday last. Numbers drawn were 1, 10 and 15. Winners of €25 each were: Edward Rafter, Muredach Hallinan, Philomena Duffy JP and Caroline Carden. Jackpot for next draw on Saturday, April 28, in Hopkins’s Bar, with a jackpot of €4,800.
