Corey ‘proud see off Londo Emma Gallagher speaks to the Sligo boss after his side’s 10 point victory against London in the searing heat on Sunday.

SLIGO were aware going into this opening Connacht Championsh­ip game with London the threat the hosts pose having left defeated five years ago and manager Cathal Corey had his charges very much prepared for this game in Ruislip.

The Tyrone man said afterwards that he was very pleased overall with his side’s performanc­e.

He said: “We are delighted, I suppose you always feel a wee bit under pressure coming out to Ruislip and to have played so well and to score 1-21 was brilliant.

“Probably the most pleasing thing was that it was a really good team performanc­e from goalkeeper right up to the subs that came on. “Everybody played their role. “The pleasing thing is that everyone stepped up to the mark. Charlie Harrison out there today in that heat from start to finish he was immense, from him to Sean Carrabine at 19 everybody played their role and that is the most pleasing thing.
