SEÁN’S VICTORY

When the recent North Leitrim Men’s Group progressiv­e ‘25’ card drive concluded in the Bee Park Community Centre, Seán O’Rourke emerged as a clear cut victor after all the games were played.

The progressiv­e ‘25’s’ runner-up prize to Seán was claimed jointly by Mary Gilgunn and Gerry Fee. The winner of the card drive’s table prize was a loyal supported of the event, namely Brian Cullen.

After the draws for the progres- sive ‘25’s’ raffle concluded in the Bee Park Community Centre, the prize winners were Aidan Coleman (first), Larry Flynn (second) and Bridget McGrath (third).

The jackpot prize for this Sunday night’s (May 13) North Leitrim Men’s Group progressiv­e ‘25’ card drive will be €590 on nine games. As well as the jackpot prize, all card players will have excellent chances of winning the progressiv­e ‘25’s’ first prize or the second prize or the table prize, while there will be three raffle prizes on offer too.

Regarding the weekly progressiv­e ‘25’s’ promoters, namely, the North Leitrim Men’s Group says ‘everyone is welcome; 9 p.m. in the Bee Park Community Centre; every Sunday night.’.

RECYCLING EVENT

‘Come to our recycling workshop and get your bin sorted’ is the title of a an event that will be hosted by Manorhamil­ton Tidy Town’s Committee in the Glens Centre on this Thursday evening, May 10, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Tidy Town’s Committee is promoting Thursday evening week’s recycling workshop under the auspices of the Recycling Ambassador Programme. With at least three bins now required by each household for what was formerly in old refuse collection system a one bin only requiremen­t, is now an issue to be addressed by each household as regarding what items that should that be put into each bin.

Thursday evening week’s recycling workshop will answer all questions that relate to all the bins in the new refuse collection system that has been in operation for some time now.

LEATHER WORKSHOP

You are invited to come along to Manorhamil­ton library for a demonstrat­ion of leather moulding of a child’s tricycle saddle and also how to carve a leather belt, using parts recycled from old worn out belts.

This workshop will be facilitate­d by local Lurganboy artist, David Spence, who has been working with leather for the past 18 years. The leather working workshop will take place on this Thursday, May 10, from 10 a.m. till midday.

Booking for the leather working workshop is essential. Spaces are limited. The leather working workshop is free for all participan­ts and materials are supplied. For more details drop into Manorhamil­ton library or phone the library at 071 9856180.

HEALTH IS WEALTH

What is sure to be an excellent Leitrim Health is Wealth event takes place in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon on this Wednesday evening May 16, at 7 p.m.

This event will promote positive health and well being in the whole of the County Leitrim community. RTÉ One Nationwide presenter, Mary Kennedy will be the Leitrim Health is Wealth event facilitato­r and admission is free.
