Coun­cil­lors meet Ross

SLIGO County Coun­cil’s May monthly meet­ing was cut short yes­ter­day (Mon­day) to al­low a del­e­ga­tion travel to Dublin to meet Trans­port Min­is­ter Shane Ross.

The coun­cil­lors were plan­ning to lobby Min­is­ter Ross for fund­ing for Class 3 roads in ru­ral Sligo.

The del­e­ga­tion in­cluded Cathaoir­leach Coun­cil­lor Sea­mus Kil­gan­non, Michael Clarke, Hu­bert Keaney, Marie Casserly, Martin Baker, Paul Tay­lor, Margaret Gorm­ley and Di­rec­tor of Ser­vices Tom Kil­feather.

The mem­bers have been highly crit­i­cal of Min­is­ter Ross since he came to of­fice for the lack of fund­ing granted to­wards ru­ral roads in Sligo over the past few years.
