Driver is banned for 11 months

FOR not hav­ing in­sur­ance at Car­rick­na­gat, Col­looney on May 26 th last, Fenella Egan, Top Road, Strand­hill was fined €100 and banned from driv­ing for 11 months at Sligo District Court.

Mr Ger­ard McGovern, so­lic­i­tor (de­fend­ing), said the de­fen­dant was driv­ing her part­ner’s car but wasn’t a named driver on the pol­icy.

At the same court, Michael Christo­pher Quigley, 22 Ross Road, River­stown was fined €300 for not hav­ing tax on his car at Tub­ber­bride on April 16 th 2017. The car had been out of tax since May 31st 2016.

Also at Sligo court, Stephen Quigley (19), 22 Ross Road, River­stown was fined €200 for not hav­ing in­sur­ance at Car­rick­coola on July 28th 2017. He was a named driver on his brother’s pol­icy now said Mr Mark Mul­laney, so­lic­i­tor (de­fend­ing).
