East­ern Harps re­mem­brance mass for three lo­cals who drowned in Strand­hill 20 years ago

EAST­ERN Harps GAA Club is or­gan­is­ing a mass this Satur­day to re­mem­ber three young lo­cal men who sadly lost their lives in a tragic drown­ing 20 years ago on May 17th.

Bobby Tay­lor (16), Tommy Coyle (18) and Michael Hig­gins (17) were all part of a group of lads that went to Strand­hill dur­ing a mini heat­wave.

The three Leav­ing Cer­tifi­cate stu­dents were swept into the sea by a pow­er­ful un­der­cur­rent while play­ing foot­ball.

Bobby was younger brother to for­mer in­ter-county player Paul.

East­ern Harps GAA Club will hold a re­mem­brance mass for them in Gur­teen Church on Satur­day evening, May 19th at 6 pm.
