Eastern Harps remembrance mass for three locals who drowned in Strandhill 20 years ago

EASTERN Harps GAA Club is organising a mass this Saturday to remember three young local men who sadly lost their lives in a tragic drowning 20 years ago on May 17th.

Bobby Taylor (16), Tommy Coyle (18) and Michael Higgins (17) were all part of a group of lads that went to Strandhill during a mini heatwave.

The three Leaving Certificate students were swept into the sea by a powerful undercurrent while playing football.

Bobby was younger brother to former inter-county player Paul.

Eastern Harps GAA Club will hold a remembrance mass for them in Gurteen Church on Saturday evening, May 19th at 6 pm.
