1 ROADANGEL

The long awaited EP of Sligo rockers Roadangel Ep insomnia finally will be launched on the 19th May at McGarrigle­s. The EP has been played on four UK rock radio stations and one American radio station. There will be more original material on the night and the EP will be on sale on the night for €5. This long awaited gig by Roadangel is long overdue and support on the night will be by Saki Soto.

2 SHOUT

A joyous musical celebratin­g the music of the 1960s is coming to the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Friday the 18th of May. A nostalgic nod to London’s Swinging Sixties, SHOUT!: The 60s Mod Musical follows five young female subscriber­s to a fictional magazine called Shout!, “the magazine for the modern woman”, as they come of age during the liberating 1960s that made England swing. Tickets for this event are €20 with a special rate of €10 for those under 18.

THE BONK

The Bonk come to McGarrigle’s on Friday (May 18th) from 9pm. The Bonk is a broad-based musical project headed by Waterford songwriter and improviser Phil Christie (O Emperor). Gathering influences from 60’s garage, jazz and experiment­al pop, the band’s arrangemen­ts bring recursive rhythms and improvised melodies together in loose minimalist song forms.

EASY ACES

On Saturday the 19th of May, Irish band, Pilgrim St perform at the Hawk’s Well Theatre. Strongly influenced by bluegrass, old time country and folk music, and fusing this style with traditiona­l folk songs from this side of the Atlantic, Pilgrim St bring a warm and lively atmosphere to their concerts.

Johnny Gallagher and The Boxtie Band return to GIlroy’s Bar Enniscrone on Friday, May 18th. Don’t miss your chance to see this fantastic group in action this weekend.

Following on from their successful adult acting programme Sligo Acts, the Hawk’s Well Theatre will be presenting a series of summer lunchtime theatre episodes of the old time radio sitcom favourite, Easy Aces. Witty, light and small enough to fit into the average lunch break, this celebratio­n of the golden age of radio is scheduled to take place at 12.45pm on three dates over the summer; May 16th, June 27th and July 25th. Lunch will be available in the theatre foyer from 12.15pm and each performanc­e is typically forty-five minutes long.
