Drama group makes debut

A new drama group for north Sligo was formed just in time for this year’s Cos Cos Festival.

The Benbulben Players are an amateur drama group based in Rathcormac.

There was never going to be any other name for the performers who rehearse and live under the shadow of Sligo’s most famous Mountain.

The 25 members made their acting debut as part of the Cos Cos Festival when they put on a one act play called ‘ The Spinsters’ last Wednesday, 9 th May at the Rathcormac National School Hall at 9pm.

Members of the group also performed songs, recited poetry and storytelling on the night.

The vision of the Benbulben Players is to produce amateur plays as well as an annual to pantomime.
