Drama group makes de­but

A new drama group for north Sligo was formed just in time for this year’s Cos Cos Fes­ti­val.

The Ben­bul­ben Play­ers are an ama­teur drama group based in Rath­cor­mac.

There was never go­ing to be any other name for the per­form­ers who re­hearse and live un­der the shadow of Sligo’s most fa­mous Moun­tain.

The 25 mem­bers made their act­ing de­but as part of the Cos Cos Fes­ti­val when they put on a one act play called ‘ The Spin­sters’ last Wed­nes­day, 9 th May at the Rath­cor­mac Na­tional School Hall at 9pm.

Mem­bers of the group also per­formed songs, re­cited po­etry and sto­ry­telling on the night.

The vi­sion of the Ben­bul­ben Play­ers is to pro­duce ama­teur plays as well as an an­nual to pan­tomime.

Chil­dren and adult dancers and mu­sic ians alike take part in the Cos Cos Fes­ti­val in Rath­cor­mac and Drum cliffe over the week­end. In­set and be­low : Por­tuguese dancers, far right dancers atop of Kings Moun­tain, be­low right, evening per­for­mance by Ir­ish...
