Loses licence after drink driving

A 56-year-old driver has been put off the road for a year after being found guilty of drink driving three years ago.

Tom Feeny of Garavogue Villas, Sligo was charged with drink driving at the same address on 30 th July 2015.

The court heard from Inspector Donal Sweeney that Feeny had an alcohol reading of 47mgs/100mls of breath.

Defence solicitor Mr Mark Mullaney said his client was working and the loss of his licence will affect him.

He said the defendant’s family had grown and were no longer dependent on him.

Judge Kevin Kilrane convicted and fined Feeny ¤200 and disqualifi­ed him from driving for one year.
