Johnny Kelly was vital in the Tourlestrane attacks and worked tirelessly throughout the hour.

There was only 10 seconds on the clock when Tourlestrane got on the scoreboard through a Brian Kennedy point.

Thoughts of Tourlestrane dominating were quickly quashed by Curry who responded with a quick move a dangerous high ball lurched into the Tourlestrane goalmouth and James Walsh was quickest to react, finding the net on 2minutes.

Tourlestrane counter-attacked from this and Oisín Kennedy sent over a fine point from play to settle things for the hosts.

The Curry defence was holding up well against the increasing Tourlestrane attacks as the next two scores came from the visitors. Red Óg Murphy involved in the build-up play along with Declan Coffey as Alan Reilly put Curry two in front on 12 minutes and it was Curry again who scored through Tommy Henry as they looked promising going forward. Tourlestrane pounced for a goal of their own on 14 minutes a fantastic move seeing Brian Egan slice through the Curry defence to bring the game level at 1-2 a piece.

Sean Davey, James Walsh and Reilly were involved in the next score, the latter pointing from play as Coffey added another to give Curry a two point cushion on 16 minutes. Tourlestrane then responded with a Johnny Kelly free followed by a Kennedy point from play to level again and then on 20 minutes Barry Walsh grabbed possession from a lucky bounce as the ball fell into his path and he didn’t hesitate in scoring Tourlestrane’s second goal to bring them into a 2-4 to 1-4 lead.

Great points from Curry’s Kenny Morley and Red Óg Murphy brought it back to a one point game before Egan scored two from placed balls to give Tourlestrane a 2-6 to 1-6 lead at the break.

The hosts outscored their opponents by 6 points to 4 in the second half, the impressive Kelly on target again on 34 minutes before a Henry free and a point from play from Murphy brought it back to a two point game on 39 minutes.

Two more frees from the boot of Egan kept the scores ticking over for Tourlestrane as they were four in front with 44 minutes played.

Substitute Darren Leonard pushed Tourlestrane into a five point lead with 11 minutes to go but Curry came back again with two points including a Murphy free to leave just a goal between them with six minutes to go.

Tourlestrane had 2 goal chances in the closing stages one went wide and the other came off the post with two points, an Egan free and a Kennedy point from play seeing them close out the game.
