IHF COLLECTION THANKS

Thank you to everyone that supported the Irish Heart Foundation Collection in Ballymote on May 11, due to your unbelievab­le kindness €1,400 has been donated to the Irish Heart Foundation Training programme. This will make a difference and save lives.

This collection would not have been possible without the local support of Ballymote post office, Kanes SuperValu and Henry’s Petrol Station were we had our collection points, thanks also to the amazing Superwomen that volunteere­d their time on a cold, wet day.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The first of the national finals are taking place in Limerick on May 26 and 27, we are proud to say we have five participan­ts from Ballymote representi­ng Sligo this weekend. We would like them wish them all the very best of luck and hope that they are successful in their events. Tara Howard under-nine Gymnastics, Aoife Scanlon under-10 Art, Oisin Brennan under-14 Mixed Distance Relay, Aaron Brennan under-16 Marathon, Seán Woods under-16 Modelling.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Congratula­tions to all the children from Scoil Mhuire gan Smal and Knockminna National School, who received the Sacrament of Holy Communion on Sunday, May 13, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception and Doo Church.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Roy Clackette, Cumbria; Seán Conlon, Wolfe Tone Street, whose deaths occurred recently.
