ARTS FESTIVAL

Tickets are now on sale for two great performanc­es during Boyle Arts Festival. The Rob Strong and Don Baker Band will play in Daly’s Storehouse on July 21 On Monday, July 23, Luka Bloom will make a very special intimate appearance, in the Church of Ireland.

FINE ART WEAVING

An exhibition celebratin­g Fine Art Weaving from Ireland and Scotland is open to all in King House till May 24 Fabulous pieces by Terry Dunne, Joan Baxter, John Brennan, Amanda Gizzi, Angela Forte, Mary Cuthbert, Frances Crowe, and Elizabeth Radcliffe.

ANGLING COMPETITIO­N

Cavetown and Clogher Angling club will hold a Pike Angling competitio­n on Cavetown Lake. This boat only event will take place on Sunday, May 27, Entry from 9.30 a.m. with fishing from 11 to four. Prize giving at Cavetown Amenity Area on the lake shore. Strict catch and release policy and boats must have a holding tank and electric outboards only. TEA TASTING NIGHT

Boyle and District ICA will have guest speaker Doris Rabe (Irish Tea company) on Tuesday, May 29, and will provide a tea tasting night including a talk about nutrition and her website goodhealth­clinic.ie, Doris is also a beekeeper and producer of honey so it will be an interestin­g night. A NIGHT AT THE RACES

This Novelty Race event promises to be a great night’s entertainm­ent in addition to raising funds for the club. It will take place in Mattimoe’s Bar commencing at 9.30 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, There are still some horses remaining for sponsorshi­p at €20 each. Contact any committee member if interested. Sponsorshi­p includes horse, jockey, colours, race card, entry to the parade ring and form advice.

FAMILY FUN DAY

Organisers of the Family Fun Day held recently have expressed their thanks to everyone who participat­ed and helped out on the day. They acknowledg­e funding allocated from Sligo Co. Co. Community and Voluntary grants scheme.

CAKE SALE

A Fundraisin­g cake sale and raffle is being held in the community centre, Skreen on Sunday, May 27, at midday. This is being organised by Lorna Wilson as part of the Jonathan Higgins Go Fund Me fundraiser. All proceeds will go to this fund. All donations will be gratefully accepted for the cake sale and can be dropped in to the community centre from 10 a.m. on the day. Your support will be deeply appreciate­d for this most worthy cause.
