Opens new shop

NW Simon officially

THE North West Simon Community will officially open its of charity shop at JFK Parade, Sligo on Thursday.

Margaret Heffernan a voluntary Board Member of North West Simon Community will cut the ribbon.

The charity shop is run by a team of dedicated volunteers and all funds raised in the charity shop are immediately invested into essential services in the area.

The shop is open for business and looking for donations of good quality clothing, books and other items which can be handed into the shop to Ann, the shop supervisor.

While NW Simon says Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal does not have a visible rough sleeping population, it is dealing with the phenomenon of “hidden homelessness” with many people stranded in inadequate or emergency accommodation as a result of a lack of “move on facilities”
