New outdoor staff (12) jobs at Council
TWELVE new outdoor staff positions have been sanctioned at Sligo County Council.
The first six people started work on May 16 th with the remaining six expected to have started by 12 th June at the latest.
Councillor Marie Casserly asked for an update on the appointments and was told that six new candidates will be assigned to work in Sligo Municipal District and six in Ballymote/Tubbercurry Municipal District.
“It’s a good start,” said Cllr Casserly.
Councillor Seamus Kilgannon said it was “wonderful news.”
Mayor of Sligo Cllr Hubert Keaney asked if the potholeswould still be repaired on the county roads.
Senior Engineer Brian Flynn said they’d “do what they can.”
“We’re trying to balance road works progress and have surface dressing finished by early July, in conjunction with repairs,” he said.
