BENBULBEN CARNIVAL

The Benbulben Carnival takes place on Saturday and Sunday in Stephen Street Car Park. All funds from ticket sale will go to four charitiers: MS Therapy Centre Sligo, North West Hospice, Alzheimer’s Society Sligo and Friends of Sligo University Hospital cardiac services. The Hothouse Flowers, Dervish, Charlie McGettigan and more will take to the stage over the course of the weekend.

A DOLL’S HOUSE

UK theatre company, Theatrical Niche bring their production, A Doll’s House to the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Wednesday the 30th of May. Based on the classic tale by Norwegian playwright, Henrik Ibsen, this production is a modern take on a classic piece of theatre that follows the relationsh­ip of iconic power couple, Mr & Mrs Helmer. This duo excel at work, staying on top, and socialisin­g.

BENBULBEN MOTOR SHOW

Grange Business Park will host the 5th Annual Benbulben Motor Show on Sunday 3rd of June. This year’s show will be building on the success of 2017 which has seen the show get bigger and better each year. This is a fundraisin­g event held every June bank holiday Sunday. This year’s charity will be The Grange Armada Developmen­t Associatio­n.

MINDING FRANKIE

On Friday the 1st of June, a theatrical production of Maeve Binchy’s last novel, Minding Frankie comes to the Hawk’s Well stage. The play follows the story of Noel Lynch, a man who is struggling with an alcohol addiction, when he gets a call from Stella, a girlfriend with whom he shared a drunken weekend. Stella is having Noel’s child; she is also dying from cancer.

STRANDHILL TRAIL ‘R’ TRASH

Strandhill is one of the most diverse and welcoming locations for outdoor activities and socialisin­g opportunit­ies on the west coast of Ireland. However some of the walking and running trails through the forest and along the coast are being used as dumping grounds, we ask the question, are our outdoor natural spaces for TRAILS OR for TRASH? Join the Havin’ a Laugh crew on Fri June 1st 7-9pm for Sligo’s first #plogging event, a Swedish craze of picking up litter while out jogging!

Sligo Live Festival present legendary singer/songwriter Don McLean to play IT Sligo Knocknarea Arena this Sunday, 3rd June with support from renowned Texan singer/songwriter Jarrod Dickenson. Tickets €49.50.
